2015 Acura TLX – Car Review : 2015 Acura TLX Console Closeup
The Japanese makers of the 2015 Acura TLX did give some thought into its construction which resulted in a sort of amalgamation of the best features of the recalled Acura TL and the Acura TSX. While the Acura TSX was a crossover, the Acura TL was a sedan; neither of which did much in the market. The Acura TLX comes into the market, presumably, with this hope that it does well as opposed to its predecessors; and amongst a category of well sought after luxury cars. The 2015 Acura TLX is now 190 inches long which is comparatively less than the Acura TSX. It has a 109.3 inch wheelbase in the front, which gives it a narrower look and reduces the size by a whole inch. This ensures a more sturdy and aggressive look but also makes it aerodynamically sounder. The rear and the roof of the car also experienced similar modifications, which makes the Acura TLX sit right between the Acura TSX and the Acura TL. The 2015 Acura TLX comes with a 2.4 L I-4 four cylinder engine, with an eight speed double clutch automatic transmission and torque converter, designed exclusively by Acura. The Acura produces 206 horsepower at 6800 rpm with 182 ft-lb of torque. Acura incorporates Honda’s Variable Cylinder Management wherein while travelling on low load, the engine does not make use of three of its cylinders to save fuel. Another added change in the cabin, in terms of driving comfort, is the replacement of the conventional gear shift lever to a push button near the three-spoke steering wheel. The eight speed double clutch transmission can be upgraded into a nine speed transmission, along with 3.5L and V-6 engine.
