2015 Aston Martin DB9 Carbon Edition – Beauty after beauty treatment
2015 Aston Martin DB9 Carbon Edition may well be the swan song for the mighty car. The car is basically unchanged from 2004 when it was introduced the first time. However, it is fair to mention that Aston Martin upgraded the vehicle more than once and the newest iteration is to be the best yet. Dubbed as a Carbon Edition, the 2015 Aston Martin DB9 comes with the known six liter V12 engine now based on a “Gen4 VH architecture and hardware” which basically means that it is easier to reach the maximum output of 510 HP and the engine will consume less fuel in the process.
Being one of the most desirable GT cars in the history of automobiles, Aston Martin had a tough time trying to modernize and improve this good package. During the last five years they have introduced at least four upgraded versions and every one of them brought something new which lengthened the DB9’s life for a year or so. Now, the car that is regarded as the most desirable car has reached its tenth year on the market and Aston Martin just slightly upgraded it so it can deliver the characteristics that a modern luxury cruiser priced over $200,000 simply has to deliver.
The Aston Martin DB9 has never been the fastest on the track, or on the straight line and that will not change now. It was formed out of passion, filled with emotions and sold to people who valued the spiritual values this car has in spades. This is possibly the best looking car in the world and it was like that since it came to the market. Now, for 2015, Aston Martin upgraded the exterior with new carbon accents such as carbon fibre side skirts which improve the aerodynamic, carbon fiber details on the rear lamps that improve styling, and black details on the windows which make the new 2015 Aston Martin DB9 look more like a Bond 007 car. Somehow, the 2015 Aston Martin DB9 feels more muscular and even sleeker (we did not know that was possible) and the added carbon inserts just accentuate its Grand Touring character, additionally seasoning the looks which is by far the most courageous in the business.
Aston Martin offers two distinctive versions of the 2015 DB9. They are called Carbon Black and Carbon White and the main difference is actually the colour of the bodywork. However, Aston Martin provides the buyers with a choice of different colours for the 2015 DB9. Even the additional aerodynamic features such as carbon fibre front splitter, rear diffuser and mirror cap/arm are available.
Performance remains much the same as for the 2013 Aston Martin DB9. The impressive V12 provides 510 HP and 620 Nm of torque which is enough to accelerate this large and heavy beast to 60 in 4.1 seconds while the maximum speed remains at 183 mph. We all know that this car is not bought for its performance. Although Aston Martin delivers power in unprecedented ways with the drama of a fighter jet, the main advantages are the looks of the thing, powerful heritage of the Aston Martin brand and the emotions that fill every inch of the car. Those driving in it will never feel the G forces like in the Nissan GT-R, but everyone that ever came across this car has goosebumps like they’re going on their first date of their life.
