2015 Dodge Dart – A Fun, Sporty and Fuel Efficient Car

Dodge introduced the Dart back in the years of 1960 to 1976. It was a great four door sedan that was downsized from being a full-sized car when it was first introduced in 1960, to a mid-size car in 1962 all the way down to a compact size from 1963 to 1976. It was powerful enough for the driver to enjoy driving it and look powerful based on its Italian template coachbuilder Carrozzeria Ghia.

The Dart was brought back in 2013 that has led to the all-new 2015 Dodge Dart. The new model offers a few new details that the older models didn’t have. Dodge has brought a new running gear that has a larger range and they have resolved the driving issues that the old models had. The 2015 Dart has to compete with tough rivals i.e. Hyundai Elantra, the Ford Focus and the Chevy Cruze. What stands out in the new Dodge is the cabin space. Sitting in the car makes you feel as though you are in a mid-sized car. None of the competitors are able to compete with 2015 Dodge Dart.

The outer shell has a similar look to the late Dodge neon. The body proportions are slightly similar to the Neon, but the main difference is that it has the slanted front-end that gives it an aggressive appearance to it. The rear still has the same large LED brake lights like the 2014 Charger, which gives the rear end a sporty look.

The 2015 Dodge Dart comes in five different trims: Aero, SXT, SE, Limited and GT. The SE is the standard base model that comes equipped with folding rear seats, power adjustable windows, CD/MP3 player with an auxiliary port and four-speaker surround sound system. There’s also a convenience group that offers active grille shutters, keyless entry, Bluetooth capability and a USB port.

The SXT comes with all Convenience group features but adds on a six-speaker sound system, automatic headlights, high standard cloth upholstery and a sliding front armrest. This trim level is also capable of other optional packages. There’s a Sun/Sound Group, Cold Weather Group, Rallye Group and the California Appearance Group. Each group package is tailored to fit different personalities. The Aero, Limited and GT come standard with most of the Convenience package and but add on more power in the engine.

The Interior has a simple design template. The dashboard flows seamlessly from the driver’s side to the passenger’s area around the car. The models that are higher than the standard model have an 8.4 inch touch screen display screen with navigation, climate control and multimedia controls. There’s an extra small screen that is placed in between the gauges that displays the digital speedometer and extra information about the vehicle. For a small compact car, the 2015 Dodge Dart has a lot more to offer than others.

The car was designed with soft touch materials that harmonize perfectly with the black, hard textured plastic that descends down to the bottom of the cabin. There are certain areas that have hard textured places that don’t quite fit with the rest of the area.

The all-new 2015 Dart comes in three different engine types. The SE model has the 2.0-liter four cylinder engine that outputs 160 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque. There’s a 6-speed manual transmission, but it is capable of having a 6-speed automatic.  The 0 – 60 mph time for this car is 9.9 sec. It’s a lot slower than most cars in its segment, and the automatic transmission is a lot slower than this. The manual transmission has an mpg of 25 city/ 36 highway while the automatic comes with 24 city/ 34 highway.

The Aero trim level comes with a turbocharged 1.4-litre four cylinder engine that outputs 160 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. Similar to the SE model, the manual transmission is standard while the automatic transmission is optional. 0 – 60 mph is 8.4 sec while the automatic transmission is 8.6 sec, just 0.2 sec slower. Mpg is 28 city/ 41 highway and the automatic gives 28 city/ 40 highway.

The SXT, Limited and GT have a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that outputs 184 hp and 171 lb-ft of torque. The manual transmission is standard on the SXT and GT, while the automatic transmission is standard on the Limited trim level. The 0-60 mph for all models is also 8.4 sec. The SXT and Limited have an mpg of 23 city/ 35 highway. The 2015 Dart GT comes with 23 city/ 33 highway for the manual transmission while the automatic GT has 22 city/ 31 highway.

The 2015 Dodge Dart has a base price of $17,490 for the SE trim level while the Limited trim level, the top level is priced at $23,990. The 2015 Dart has passed all of the U.S. crash tests and is ranked as one of the highest rated safe cars in its class. It’s an excellent car to drive if there’s a need for power, cabin space and fuel efficiency in one car.
