2015 Dodge Grand Caravan
Getting a minivan does not have to be the end of your life. There are a few rather nice ones out there that certainly help one to be a better father and still let you enjoy some of the stuff you don’t want to let go – such as driving a bit above the speed limits in certain moments and to even look cool – imagine that. Modern minivans certainly help you achieve almost all of that, but now we have to look at the one of the most popular US minivans that ever was- the Dodge Grand Caravan. For the 2015 model year, almost nothing changed. Stylistically, the Dodge remained the same as before, but FCA made some nice upgrades first of which is the installation of the 17 inch standard wheels instead of the low end 16 inch wheels found on the models before.
The 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan received a value focused Plus package for the trim levels SE and SXT. Package Plus brought some equipment usually found on higher trim levels and Dodge obviously wanted to say goodbye to it by making it more affordable and better than before. However, the style of this car isn’t what you’d like to have in 2015. It looks dated, a bit old and outperformed by almost any other import minivan (we are thinking about the Japanese minivans).
However, the 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan has an ace in the pocket and it is called Stow’n Go. It is, possibly, the best seating system in the world. Basically, you can operate the seats with one lever. When you pull it, the seats stow easily and make a flat floor thus making the interior of this, rather large minivan, as big as in the delivery Van. You have to respect that.
On the other hand, the 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan remained without the electric adjustable pedals. We know that not many of drivers used them, but they were a nice touch to this vehicle. Even though Dodge wanted to make this minivan sporty, it seems that this vehicle lost that appeal long time ago.
The refinement is not on par with the newest minivans of today, but the engine is rather potent. For the 2015 model year, the Grand Caravan received a 3,6 liter V6 engine delivering 283 HP. The engine transfers the power to the front wheels and according to official specs the 2015 Grand Caravan can achieve 60 in 8 seconds flat. That is not the best in this class, but it is fairly good. On the other hand, the car uses slightly more fuel in comparison with the newer vehicles. With 20 mpgs (average)the 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan is at the low end of this segment, but the engine is a proven six banger and it is beautifully reliable and dependable (the word invented by the Dodge itself).
All in all, with low price, rather nice equipment and proven reliability this 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan has some more to show. It is still the best bet as a family hauler.
