2015 Honda Civic Type R – Going Beyond Speed and Perfection
The 2015 Honda Civic Type R has been the talk of the auto shows this year; also the Japanese auto maker has not been anything short of extra ordinary when it comes to the adverts. Their recent YouTube video on 2015 Honda Civic Type R has already gathered more than 1 million views. What makes the advertisement so special is the fact that it lets viewers compare the new Civic Type R to the standard Civic.
This all-new Civic model is an intriguing blend of power, looks and affordability. Honda Civic has always been known for its sporty curves and the new Civic Type R has fully lived up to its expectations. The overall designs have improved a great deal, which makes this year’s Type R easily recognizable. Talking about the exterior, the door handles and the exhaust pipes are no more weirdly triangular in shape coupled with a larger spoiler.
The engine of the last generation had hardly anything to complain about, it was powerful and heavier than its predecessor but if we are to be critical, the only think it lacked was a horsepower increase. Handling too, was overall good but certain adjustments made in order to keep the cost down impacted the feel of the drive, like under-steer could be felt at higher speeds just because the rear suspension was replaced by a torsion bar.
This year’s Honda Civic Type R is highly unlikely to give anything of that sort to its critics. With its amazing 2.0 liter turbo i-VTEC engine, producing 276 HP, it is a big leap forward and promises to be a power pack ride. Although not yet confirmed but 300 lb-ft of torque is expected to give an additional horsepower of up to 300, which is surely going to put 2015 Honda Civic Type R one step ahead of the competition. The exciting new Type R is going to be the fastest the company has ever built, thanks to its turbo engine & sophisticated crafted suspensions.
Some of the benefits of 2015 Honda Civic Type R are yet to be seen but the Japanese manufacturers have not been short of praises. According to the statement from the officials, the front spoilers have been designed to add down force while front bumper have been equipped with side wings and vents that will help reduce the drag and control the air flow. For better engine cooling and performance the front grilles are enlarged. The new Type R will also support bigger wheels for more stability and speed.
The Japanese company is aiming to make 2015 Honda Civic Type R the fastest ever, especially considering the front-wheel drive type. Although what eventually comes out is yet to be seen but from the looks of it, Honda is all set to surprise the market with a big WOW!
