2015 Lexus IS 250 – A Perfect Combination of Comfort and Handling

The 2015 Lexus IS 250 is a clear evidence of the fact that the company has struggled and made its way to the top, now competing with names like Mercedes-Benz and BMW small sedans.

The best thing about the latest IS 50 is the balance between the comfort and exquisite handling. Make no mistake; it is pretty clear that the manufacturers have kept their focus majorly towards comfort this year; however, the responsive steering wheel makes it a fun car to drive. The modes available to the drivers deserve appreciation, but one could also say that they are a bit unnecessary. Switch to sports mode, and you will observe the acceleration getting stronger. The car gave a combined figure of 22.8 mpg while mostly driving on normal and briefly on sports mode.

One may say that if you are looking for speed, you might as well get the IS 350, but that does not leave behind the IS 250. The vehicle contains a 2.5-L V6 which produces about 204 HP. This figure is actually good enough to get your heart pumping while keeping the economy in check at the same time. If you have been driving a Lexus, you would know that the engine mostly smooth and with the IS 250, it is no different. The engine is simply smooth and does a great job with the six-speed-automatic. Drivers have steering wheel mounted paddle shifters, which is exciting but, well, not something too important.

Lexus Enform is fun to operate.  The controller looks like a mouse and works fine, but you can have a bit of trouble here and there with the pointer. Controls placed on steering wheels come in pretty handy for things like phone calling or switching to different radio stations. Enform also give you an option of creating your own Pandora. It is quick and simple. However, your car needs to be at rest in order for it to function. So you can create it before you hit the highway.

Going under the hood, the vehicle contains a 2.5-L V6 which is capable of producing up to 204 HP with 185 lb-ft of torque. The only transmission available with vehicle is a six-speed automatic.  However, drivers can choose either rear or all-wheel-drive.  In the driving test, the vehicle went up to 60mph from a standstill in about 7.5 seconds, which is pretty decent considering the category it belongs to.

The fuel economy estimates for the 2015 Lexus IS 250 are 21 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway with rear-wheel-drive, whereas, with all-wheel-drive the vehicle gave 20 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway.

As far as the safety is concerned, the all-new Lexus IS 250 comes with features like traction control, disc brakes, stability control, airbags (front and side) etc.

Good fuel economy, comfortable interior and decent speeds together makes the 2015 Lexus IS 250 a complete vehicle and certainly the one worth spending your money on.
