2015 Maserati GranTurismo Is Still A Properly Sexy Car
With the demeanor of a gentleman, anyone can be tricked into thinking that only British cars are sufficiently classy and refined. Although they most certainly are, looking elsewhere could get you a serene, yet highly powerful grand tourer many lust after. This is the 2015 Maserati GranTurismo – an Italian built car with some Ferrari sourced parts and whose exterior looks make it a car James Bond would drive if he were not tied with Aston Martin. Those Brits!
Although almost eight years old, the Maserati GranTurismo should have quite a few stylistic issues, but, amazingly, it does not. It seems that even if Maserati revealed it now we would still find it incredibly amusing and satisfactory. However, once you peek inside, under the metal, old stuff starts to surface and even the MC Stradale from 2014, or the Sport from the year earlier did not bring enough novelties and enough beef to make this thing sparkle again. However, if the style is the first and foremost on the buyer’s list of characteristics than the Maserati GranTurismo is the car which checks all the boxes.
As for the latest updates, the external restyling is the most important. This is the car whose curves attracted many men and women indeed, but in 2014 it received a gaping front air intakes on the sides, slightly more promiscuous grille, scary sexy eyes with LEDs and new wheels with an all new exterior color combination. Not much you may think, but all this made it far more appealing. To put it in the perspective, imagine Charlize Theron in the new Mad Max Fury Road movie. She is hot in some strange kinda way. Now, remember her everywhere else (except in the “Monster” of course). Well, the new GranTurismo is Charlize Theron in “everywhere else”. So, inconceivably hot.
Reaching for some of the modern gear, Maserati had to reinvent the major infotainment pieces so your iPhone and Android devices could play inside. Although we do not have any official info it is quite possible that Maserati sourced out the system from somewhere else and just made proper branding for you to see that proud Maserati emblem on the screen once the engine is turned on. And you are to see it a lot because the car can be literally covered with it. Seats, headrests, door panels, outside elements and everything else can have a Maserati trident.
The car remained much the same as before. The 4.7-liter engine and all the driving stuff are much the same, although the MC Stradale did receive a slight power bump to 460hp, better weight distribution, newly sorted out transmission, new wheels and a stiffer suspension.
Basically, the MC Stradale is like the GranTurismo on drugs and it goes like that too. It can hit 190 mph or crack 62 mph in 4.5 seconds. Good, isn’t it!?
The same engine, but with a bit less fury is in the 2015 Maserati GranTurismo Sport where the car has been tricked out for luxury & touring. The Stradale is for hard core guys who like to impress and be impressed. This thing will deliver.
