2015 Porsche 918 Spyder
Remember the time when Porsche revealed their Carrera GT!? It was not the first car that could hit insane speeds but it was the first car to be produced by a well known company whose cars we could see basically every day. Now, eleven years after, we have its spiritual successor and this time, it is called the 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder!
This is what you could call the creme de la creme of the car world. You cannot go much further despite the amount of money you have. You may ask yourself what is so special with this vehicle? Let us tell you just a few facts that will make your mind boggle. First of all, the 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder is powered by tree motors. One of them is a V8 petrol engine kicking out 608 HP (most cars would do great with this engine only) and this engine is additionally supported with the 154 HP electric engine. Both of them power the rear wheels. On the front sits a third engine. It is a 125 HP electric engine which basically makes this Porsche an all wheel drive car.
Three engines, one car constructed like it is going to hit the Le Mans track and built using most advanced composite materials known to human, is the closest thing to a miracle the car world has ever faced. Thanks to its state of the art launch system, absolutely flawless craftsmanship and immense power that is estimated at almost 900 HP, the 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder is capable of hitting 62 mph in 2.6 seconds, 120 mph in 7.2 seconds and 190 mph in 19.9 seconds. That is, however, only one part of this puzzle. Anyone who drove it said the same – it is, next to the LaFerrari and the P1, the best driving vehicle the world has ever seen. Nurburgring Lap of 06.57 proves that. The 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder did that back in September 2014 and it became the first series production vehicle to break the 7 minute barrier on the Green Hell.
The tech behind this vehicle is so impressive that we need a book to show it correctly, so it is best to say that the 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder is one of the three most technologically advanced cars in the world right now. The 2015 model year did not bring anything special. The only thing we could say about it is that the official EPA for the 2015 model has been estimated and the fuel consumption figures for the 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder powered by electricity is 67 mpg. On the other hand, when powered only by a petrol engine, this mind boggling machine will use much more fuel. One gallon of fuel will get you 22 miles.
Porsche will produce 918 units of the vehicle. 800 of them have already been sold and the production of this vehicle will end as soon as July 2015. The price is, of course, out of this world too. Only those buying a car will know it for sure, but it is safe to assume that the 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder costs seven figures if you want it equipped with every bell and whistle Porsche offers.
