There is a lot to like about this vehicle, simply because the company has given a lot to consumers to choose from. It has a number of body styles and trims, including GT3, GTS, Turbo S model s and t911, which is the base model.
If you have owned a Porsche or know the company well, you know that they like to reinvent things instead of bringing some totally new to the market. As far as the 2015 Porsche Carrera is concerned, it isn’t all too fancy and new from the outside. The manufacturers have stuck to basics and haven’t changed much. However, from the inside the vehicle does receive some prominent changes. Things have also gotten better mechanically. So, for the latest year, you can expect a Porsche with a brand new interior and a stronger engine. 7-speed automatic transmission mated to engine is also a brand new addition to the vehicle.
Driving the 2015 Porsche Carrera is an extremely ultimate experience. It does not matter which trim you go far or what you load it with, it is never going to disappoint you and make you feel like you own the road. It is simply aggressive to say the least and handling is as sharp as it can get. Inside the cabin, you get almost everything. It gives you all sorts of controls to maneuver the car the way you want. Whether you feel like going a bit fast or decide just to lay back and enjoy a slow comfortable ride, the Carrera will fulfill all your expectations. It won’t be wrong to say that it’s an all-in-one vehicle that everyone needs. Obviously when you talk about a Porsche and so many specs, you know it is going to be a little pricy. So, if you want to make a purchase, expect some big numbers.
One drawback, however, is that the vehicle seems very heavy while driving. Porsche is actually known for producing lighter and smaller vehicles but with Carrera, it is exactly the opposite.
Under the hood, the 2015 Porsche Carrera base contains a 3.4-l 6-cylinder engine that is capable of producing up to 350 HP. The Carrera or 911 S gets a 3.8-l engine, which is a little lighter and can produce up to 400 HP. The standard transmission available with both the version is a 7-speed manual, however, customers have PDK (automatic transmission) as an option.
The fuel economy figures with base version of Carrera are19 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. The Carrera S gives 30 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. These fuel economy figures were done with PDK transmission installed.
If you are willing to spice things up, you can go for the turbo version, which comes with 6-cylinder engine sending power to all the wheels and producing up to 520 HP. Fuel economy with the turbo model obviously goes down, giving about 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.
Over all, there is not much to dislike about 2015 Porsche Carrera and it wont be wrong to say that it has lived up to Porches’ reputation.
