The 2015 SUBARU Forester: The Affordable Luxury

The 2015 Subaru Forester has received a complete makeover, that too, after only a year. The Forester has already received so many awards that no Subaru, in the recent times, can even come close to it. If you’re hunting for an SUV, you would find nothing better than the latest Subaru Forester. Besides being a compact vehicle, it is by far one of the most affordable SUVs you can ever find. It is fully loaded with the price tag of only 23,000 US dollars. Concerned about the fuel efficiency? The all-new Forester stands out with its highway average; in fact it almost tops the chart in its class. The list doesn’t stop here, besides all those qualities, the 2015 Subaru Forester comes with the option of both turbocharged model and manual transmission.

Unfortunately, it does not offer both of them combined. To put cherry on the top, the all-wheel-drive system offered as standard in forester is one of the best out there.

The qualities mentioned above are not the only ones, which make this 2015 Subaru Forester special; the vehicle also stands out from the inside.  It offers extreme comfort, some good quality equipment, remarkable handling and smooth ride. The model that comes with the Turbocharged XT is a lot more powerful than the base trims. To make driving more enjoyable, the company has made some updates to its suspension, frame, steering and brakes. As far as the safety is concerned, many of the trims have received the feature of Eyesight driver-assist.

Shedding some light over the fuel economy, the all-new Forester comes with a 4-cylinder 2.5-L engine as standard. The engine has the capacity to produce about 170 HP and a torque of 174 lbs-ft. With CVT installed inside the vehicle, 2.5-liter engine gives 25 mpg in the city and on the highway it gives 32 mpg. This is by far the best fuel economy when compared with the rivals of Forester that come with front-wheel-drive. The Premium and base models contain a 6-speed manual as standard, however the all-wheel-drive offered with these models takes fuel efficiency figures a little low with, 22 mpg in the city and 29 miles mpg on the highway.

A 2.0-L turbocharged direct-injection engine takes the performance of the vehicle to a whole new level, producing about 250 HP and the torque of about 258 lbs-ft. The good thing though, the additional HP does not take away the fuel efficient quality, with the engine giving about 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway using regular gas. The company recommends the use of premium gasoline; however, the vehicle can still be at its best without it.

The latest 2015 Subaru Forester comes with every safety feature that is made mandatory by the authorities with some added safety features like knee airbag for driver and a stronger passenger compartment to avoid the consequences from any sort of major accident.

For the 15 Forester I highly recommend a thorough test drive on non-ideal roads. I differ with the “extreme comfort” claim. The thing jolts one’s head against the forward-angled headrest nearly constantly on most roads. The hard-as-rocks seats beg for a cushion, but on the passenger side a cushion disables the airbag. Stiffest car I’ve ever experienced. We’re waiting for the 16 Mazda CX-5 with the exact features we want to get rid of ours, happily taking the monetary loss of trading in a fairly new car. Beware!
