2015 Volvo S60 Cross Country; A class of its own!
Volvo has been going through tough times for the last 5 years. The company has failed to introduce new lineups and hasn’t been making enough profit either. Now that the company is taken over by Geely Holding Group, a Chinese automotive company, things are looking good and the engineers are busy retooling. It is expected that by 2019, the company will completely revolutionize itself. The 2015 Volvo S60 Cross Country is a vehicle that might be considered as a start of good things to happen for the company.
This vehicle is actually a blend of all the classic Volvo features plus some brand-new additions. Probably the best thing about the car is that it is available in three types of body shapes – Touring, Sport and Dynamic. Each shape has something unique about it. Although the 2015 Volvo S60 Cross Country is a new vehicle from the company but not a lot has changed when it comes to engine. It comes with a 2.5 liter 5 cylinder engine, which runs on petrol. The engine produces an amazing 246 hp and torque of 295 lb-ft. Fuel efficiency is a slightly on the lower side, especially when you compare it with other vehicles in the category. It gives 22 mpg in busy city roads and around 25 mpg on the highways. The engine is linked to a 6-speed automatic transmission, which we don’t expect from a luxury vehicle. Most vehicles in its class come with either dual clutch or 7/8 speed transmission. Volvo S60 Cross Country can reach 62 mph from a standstill in a matter of only 7.7 seconds.
The balance is good as 2015 Volvo S60 Cross Country comes with all-wheel drive as a standard option. Torque vectoring breaking system ensures safety of the driver and stops the car before the driver loses control. Talking about the cabin, everything seems to be nicely fitted in place. With smooth design and multiples color options to choose from, there is hardly anything to complain about the interior. The backseats however could have been better placed as a third person would find it hard to adjust at the back. The 7 inch navigation screen comes as standard and looks an inch or two smaller. The seats are pretty Volvo like, with smooth leather and comfort guaranteed! Some of the other features that come as standard are digital radio, climate control & Sensus Navigation. However the central screen looks a little small and outdated. Despite being a little short on space inside, the increased height of the vehicle makes entering and stepping out of the vehicle very easy, even if you’re a few inches above 6 feet.
2015 Volvo S60 Cross Country has a price tag of around $51,200. It is slightly on the higher side, especially when you consider the type of options and features it has to offer.
