The 2015 Bentley Flying Spur Is Not A Mulsanne, But Its Close

The 2015 Bentley Flying Spur is a healthy mix of the Continental GT sportiness and Mulsanne like opulent comfort. It is a perfect car if you aren’t a “mulsanne-type-of-guy” and it’ll evoke every bit of opulence, luxury, extravagance and absurdity as anyone would expect from such a dignified machine crafted in one of the best British design and development centers. The 2015 Bentley Flying Spur came to the market as a perfectly executed executive saloon which is not exactly in the league of the Mulsanne, but its styling, perfect balance between exaggeration and perfection as well as its close ties with the Continental GT lineup make it just right to slot below the astonishingly extravagant Mulsanne.

However, the 2015 Flying Spur brings something to the market that not a lot of Bentley fans approve – a V8. For them it is hard to accept the fact that the engines of today are really V12 good whether they have 8, 10 or 12 cylinders. Of course, the disappointment can’t be corrected by words of any kind, but we will give you a glimpse of the V8 powering the 2015 Bentley Flying Spur. It is an Audi developed engine with capacity of four liter, two turbochargers, direct gasoline injection and perfectly sorted out exhaust so it wouldn’t harm Mother Nature in any way. Powering rather sleek and elegant body of the Flying Spur, the V8 engine develops staggering 500 HP and 487 lb ft of torque (more than many previous V12 Bentley engines). Coupled with the eight speed gearbox and superb adjusted AWD, the V8 powered cruiser can accelerate smoothly to 60 mph in 4,9 seconds.

Apart from receiving the V8 engine from the Continental GT, the Flying Spur shares with the sports car a front interior arrangement which makes it more than adequate to cope with the standards of today. Receiving the newest infotainment system, coupled with rear seat entertainment, the 2015 Bentley Flying Spur is as much of a technological showcase as it is a Mecca for luxurious goodies. Speaking of which, the Flying Spur can be equipped with such opulent, aristocratic equipment that its closest counterparts from Rolls Royce don’t really offer much more. Of course, Beemer works on the Ghost and Audi on the Flying Spur so, no wonder why both cars offer unprecedented luxury and top level of craftsmanship. Besides being equipped with the most luxurious and most expensive wood and leather, this Continental GT can indulge those wanting proper W12 power.

It is available with the monstrous W12 engine producing astonishingly high 616 HP and 590 lb ft of torque. So much power is really what true Bentley fans always want, and with it, the Bentley Flying Spur can accelerate to 60mph in 4.3 seconds which is in a serious sports car category. No wonder why Bentley has always been an advanced automobile whose pedigree was built upon the exaggeration cleverly hidden behind the elegantly sculpted bodies and top end technology.
