The 2015 Nissan Juke Nismo RS Is The Most Fun You Can Have For The Money
It’s hard not to like the Nissan Juke. Although it just turned five years, it is still one of the funkiest and cheekiest vehicles on the road and with the unconventional styling it is the type of a car that will let you be in the spotlight more than once. However, Nissan did one unthinkable thing with the Juke that made it even more nuts than it already was. They gave the car to Nismo and ask them to make something out of it. Nismo (Nissan Motorsport) is something like ST for Ford or RS for Renault. It’s basically a part of the company that makes “go-faster” cars. So, to give Juke a bit more lunacy and cheekiness, Nismo did their thing.
As expected Nismo badges are everywhere, but unlike the “more-HP-stickers” you can see on ordinary tuned cars, these really represent a car that can do stuff better than one without them. Of course, we’re not talking here about that GT-R powered Nissan Juke, but even this Nismo version with the red front lip, red mirror caps and red details on the sides, got some more push out of its turbocharged 1.6 liter engine. And you know what!? This is the Nissan Juke Nismo RS we are talking about here which means it is sportier than any other Nissan Juke that ever went into series production.
Looking at the spec sheet, it is really hard to find out what all fuss is all about. The 2015 Nissan Juke Nismo RS isn’t that faster or more powerful than the “usual” Nissan Juke with turbocharged engine, but maybe we skipped something important here. Fun! It must be that. Look at it, it looks like a small and tiny but very playful dog you wanted when you were five and that is exactly what Nismo RS had to make of this car to make it appeal to even more buyers. Fun factor is of the hook and it is additionally enhanced with the rather powerful 1.6 liter petrol engine which churns out 215 HP for the front wheel driven car. Interestingly, the CVT transmission (as the only option for the AWD) isn’t quite as frugal and robust as a six speed manual so the 2015 Nissan Juke Nismo RS equipped with the AWD is four HP and 26 lb ft of torque less powerful than the one with the manual. That is really a shame, but then again, just go for the manual one and you’ll have a Juke that can accelerate to 60 in 6.7 seconds which is something you can’t do with any other small city roamer.
In order to transfer all this power to the ground, the Nissan Juke Nismo RS received a modified suspension now adorned and completed with the addition of stiffer springs, stiffer tool bars, better tires (225/45 18 Continental ContiSport Contact 5) and a limited-slip front differential for the FWD. All of this ensures top quality cornering, almost as impressive as on smaller Nissan sports cars.
The 2015 Nissan Juke Nismo RS is possibly the most fun car you can have for the money. Apart from being more powerful, with better sports equipment, the Juke Nismo RS is garnished with nice interior decoration, beautiful wheels and a lot of electric equipment everyone will find more than useful. Really, it is hard to pick a funkier car on the market.
