The 2015 Toyota Camry Is A Beautifully Modified Sedan Which Finally Looks Appealing
It is surprising just how radically Toyota changed the Camry only after two years in production. The all new model came out three years ago and now, the 2015 Toyota Camry went through such extensive makeover it is hard to guess why Toyota even bothered selling the car from before for two years straight. The new car is certainly livelier, better looking and it even feels much more upscale in comparison with any other Camry from before. Yes, believe it not, it is probably the best Camry that ever existed and for 2015 it received some very nice garnishes which makes it look more refined than ever before.
Starting from the front end, the 2015 Toyota Camry received rather accentuated front lights with interesting headlight design which draws inspiration from the modern American and some European cars. In accordance with tastes of today, the 2015 Toyota Camry got that enormous front grille which is obviously very Rally-like although this car isn’t about sport whatsoever. Daytime running lights now subtly integrated into the front bumpers add up a bit of that modern feel and definitely spice the things up even more when it comes to the Toyota Camry design.
The sides received some modification as well. As this is a long and nicely dimensioned sedan, Camry received a special black “third-window-wannabe” plastic cover which is certainly something that some will like more than others. Interestingly, the overall shape of the car remained unmistakably Camry-like even though Toyota pointed out that the only thing on the outside that stayed the same in comparison with the older car is the roof. Everything else is new and we are certain this new sleek, modern, almost sporty look will attract buyers like no other.
The magnificence of the Toyota US designing team meant that the new Camry is going to receive exceptional outside elements which will make it even more appealing and add a bit of that much needed showoff stance the Camry never really had. The 2015 Toyota Camry XSE is maybe the most beautiful of the lot. With the 3.5 V6 engine inside, the car receives wonderful 18 inch wheels, blackened front LED headlights (imagine that) and high end stuff like noise-reducing windshield, Convenience package, 7-inch Entune touch display, GPS navigation system, Qi wireless charger and gazillion of apps installed or ready to be installed.
Finally, Toyota started to listen to their customers and boy did they deliver. This new Camry, with top notch equipment finally can be considered a beautifully styled car – something rarely associated with Toyota. True, the rear end with the rather large rear lights could be better, but hey, even like this its miles better than before.
In the interior is the same story. Toyota modified, redesigned, slightly improved or completely changed a lot of things although the overall appearance doesn’t seem to be much different than before. Most important changes are, of course, the addition of much needed high-grade standard equipment such as touch display, Bluetooth phone connectivity, rear view camera, cruise control, etc. Higher trims get much more and if you really want to boost safety and luxury in the car then go for Advanced Technology package (lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, a pre-collision warning and braking system, and automatic high beam headlight control) and slick JBL sound system.
Although the changes were quite profound and Toyota almost made a whole new car out of the 2015 Toyota Camry, the engines and the transmission stayed the same. The 2,5 liter inline four with 178 HP and 170 lb ft of torque is still the entry level engine, while the 3,5 liter V6 with 268 HP and 248 lb-ft of torque is the top of the line engine which provides the Camry with acceleration to 60 in 6,2 seconds (on of the best results in class).
