The 2016 Ford F-150 Raptor Is The Super truck Of Our Time
As the 2015 Ford Raptor was basically nonexistent on the market, Ford Motor Company did make an interesting pre-sedan and revealed the 2017 Raptor which will be delivered from 2016 onward. As ever, the prospects of the most astonishing off-road vehicle are definitely on par with that of what a small boy wants. The 2016 Ford F-150 Raptor is exciting, it is a toy for grownups and it will turn heads as much as any sports car. That is why the Raptor SVT is the best and superior to any other similarly shaped car.
However, the newest 2016 Ford F-150 Raptor is far from the rugged, unrefined monstrosity it once was. The new one brings so many novelties we are struggling to see the direct connection with the old one. Before we sink into the most amazing tech under the sheet metal, we will just say two things – the new Raptor is an EcoBoost engined car and it has a 10 speed automatic gearbox. If you want to know if it goes with the current times, here’s your answer, it does.
In comparison with the old Raptor, the newest machine 2016 Ford F-150 Raptor is far more superior. As we all know, Ford made the new F-150 a proper modern vehicle with an all-aluminum body and a whole lot of other improvements which make it superior in its class. However, as expected, the Raptor will face far greater driving challenges than the classic F-150. Because of that Ford made a few notable modifications to it.
The new Raptor is based on high strength steel architecture which was covered with aluminum panels. This made the new Raptor some 500 pounds lighter in comparison with the previous car. Lower weight is certainly one of the most precious benefits that the new car has over any other truck since now it is able to tackle the harshest terrains in the wilderness.
That, of course isn’t the only advantage. Ford rethought the whole suspension and added far beefier Fox racing shocks with greater travel. These should support high speed chase over rough terrains that are one of the Raptor’s specialties.
Additionally, reports suggest that the 2017 Ford Raptor received a new transfer case specially reinforced for off-road tasks, a Torsen differential and special pre programmed modes created for various tasks. It turns out that driving modes can be selected through the Terrain Management System with Normal, Street, Weather, Mud, Baja, and Rock mode available.
All in all, the new 2016 Ford F-150 Raptor will definitely outperform all previous iterations. We actually think that this is the ultimate super truck with all the bells and whistles added to it. The power is unknown, but the 3.5 liter EcoBoost will turnout more than 420 HP for sure. It could easily hit 500 HP.
